Staff Accountant - Bradenton, FL

SUMMARY

Ten–8Fire & Safety is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. This position will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close processes, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with internal and external accounting standards. This position is focused on providing support to the daily operations of Ten-8.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed. Prepare and post journal entries for general ledger accounts. Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes. Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger accounts. Maintain and update fixed asset schedules and depreciation entries. Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed. Prepare and analyze financial reports for management. Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies. Assist in audits by providing documentation and explanations. Support budget and forecasting activities. Identify and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy. Provide accounting support for non-accounting departments. Make recommendations for process improvement and efficiency.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. 3-5 years of accounting experience. Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles. Proficiency with accounting software (SAP, preferred) and Microsoft Excel. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to apply concepts of basic mathematics, algebra and geometry. Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions in written and oral form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variances in standardized situations. Ability to meet deadlines and work both independently and in a team environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

CPA or CPA candidates are a plus. Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools. Industry experience is a plus.
