About the Role

We are seeking a strategic, technically deep, and results-oriented leader to own and advance our Zuora Subscription Billing, Payments, and Revenue Recognition ecosystem as well as our broader Finance and Accounting technology landscape. This is a high-impact individual contributor leadership role where you will serve as the primary technical authority and product-minded leader for our quote-to-cash and revenue systems.

You will partner closely with Finance, Billing, and Revenue Operations leadership to drive systems and data initiatives that support scalable growth, operational efficiency, and informed decision-making. You will own the strategic roadmap for Zuora Billing, Zuora Revenue, payment processing, and related financial applications, ensuring alignment with business goals and timely execution. Acting as the voice of the Finance organization within Business Systems, you will translate complex financial requirements into robust, high-impact solutions that enable financial insight, compliance, and revenue optimization.
Responsibilities

• Zuora Platform Ownership and Technical Leadership: Serve as the subject matter expert and technical authority for Zuora Billing and Zuora Revenue. Lead the design, configuration, optimization, and troubleshooting of subscription billing, payment processing, revenue recognition, and related integrations. Ensure platform scalability, security, and compliance with ASC 606 and SOX requirements.
• Product Vision and Roadmap Ownership: Develop and maintain a business-aligned, forward-looking product roadmap for Zuora and peripheral financial applications. Collaborate with Finance and Accounting leadership to validate that the roadmap delivers desired business outcomes. Communicate the product vision effectively across technical and non-technical audiences.
• Subscription Billing and Payments Strategy: Own the end-to-end subscription billing lifecycle including product catalog management, rate plan configuration, pricing models, invoice generation, and payment processing. Design and implement payment solutions across credit card, ACH, direct debit, and alternative payment methods. Manage payment gateway integrations and ensure compliance with PCI and country-specific requirements.
• Revenue and Finance Systems Integration: Lead the integration of Zuora with NetSuite, Salesforce, and other enterprise systems to ensure seamless data flows across the quote-to-cash lifecycle. Facilitate the alignment of billing solutions with revenue recognition processes. Drive automation to reduce manual processes and improve operational efficiency.
• Strategic Alignment and Prioritization: Understand and communicate company and customer goals, connecting them directly to the work of the team. Organize and prioritize the product backlog based on business value and urgency. Provide timely decisions on trade-offs, scope changes, and competing priorities. Define clear objectives and success metrics for each sprint or release.
• Business Partnership and Voice of the Customer: Act as the primary liaison and consultative partner for Finance and Accounting stakeholders, anticipating their needs and advocating for solutions that address their challenges. Become a trusted advisor by deeply understanding their workflows, pain points, and regulatory requirements. Foster a product-oriented mindset and ensure cross-functional alignment.
• Solution Delivery and Quality: Collaborate closely with technical teams to transform business requirements into comprehensive technical design documents. Establish clear objectives, timelines, and deliverables for projects. Validate completed work to ensure it aligns with expectations and meets quality standards. Lead backlog prioritization, refinement, and planning sessions.
• Team Building and Mentorship: Contribute to a team culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Mentor junior analysts and administrators. Take a leadership role in the team's transformation toward a product-led development approach. Provide technical guidance and share best practices across the Business Systems organization.
• Post-Implementation Hypercare and Incident Triage: Proven track record of post-implementation hypercare and incident triage in billing or revenue systems, including leading cross-functional response efforts under pressure and driving resolution across engineering, finance, and CRM teams.
• Upstream Data Quality and Cross-Functional Influence: Demonstrated experience identifying and remediating upstream CRM data quality issues that impact billing accuracy, with the ability to influence system owners and stakeholders outside direct authority to drive resolution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in business systems, product ownership, or solution delivery for Finance and Accounting systems, with a strong emphasis on subscription billing and revenue platforms.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Zuora Billing implementation, configuration, and development, including product catalog, workflows, notifications, invoice templates, and security.
• Deep expertise in Zuora Revenue (RevPro) or equivalent revenue recognition platforms, with strong knowledge of ASC 606 compliance and revenue recognition principles.
• Proven experience designing and implementing payment processing solutions including credit card, ACH, direct debit, alternative payment methods, payment gateways, refunds, chargebacks, and network tokenization.
• Strong experience integrating Zuora with Salesforce, NetSuite, and data warehouse technologies (Snowflake, ADW, or similar).
• Expert proficiency with Zuora APIs, ZOQL, and workflows for customization and integration.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills with the demonstrated ability to build trust and credibility with business partners at all levels.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in data analysis, conversion, migration, interfaces, and reporting.

Compensation & Benefits

The compensation that we reasonably expect to pay for this role is: $152,000 - $190,000 base pay. The actual compensation for this role will be determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's skills, education, experience, and internal equity.

Please note that compensation is just one aspect of a comprehensive Total Rewards package. The compensation range listed here does not include additional benefits or any discretionary bonuses you may be eligible for based on your role and/or employment type.
