Position: Travel RN - PCU

Shift: 7 PM - 7 AM

Location: Denton, TX

Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Travel Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Progressive Care Unit (PCU). The ideal candidate will manage the care of stroke patients, patients on cardiac drips, those requiring continuous BiPAP, and post-procedure patients. Our unit operates with a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 4:1, which may flex to 5:1 during staffing shortages.

Unit Information:

  • Number of Beds: 25
  • Total Staff: 54 FTE
  • Patient Ratios: 4:1 or 5:1
  • Staffing:

    • Day Shift: 1 Charge RN, 6 Staff RNs, 3 Patient Care Technicians (PCT)
    • Night Shift: 1 Charge RN, 6 Staff RNs, 3 PCT
  • Type of Equipment Used: BiPAP, restraints, Airvo, seizure precautions, bedside monitoring, telemetry
  • EMR System: Meditech
Qualifications:
  • Required Certifications:

    • ACLS
    • BLS
    • NIHSS Certification
  • Preferred Qualifications:

    • Preceptor experience
    • Charge nurse experience
Typical Procedures Performed:
  • Emergent thoracentesis
  • Telemonitoring
