Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Position Summary

The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is responsible for providing comprehensive respiratory care to patients with various cardiopulmonary conditions. This role requires proficiency in assessing, diagnosing, and implementing treatment plans for patients experiencing respiratory distress or requiring therapeutic ventilation support.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic tests and interpret results to determine the need for respiratory intervention.
• Administer respiratory therapy treatments including but not limited to oxygen therapy, nebulizer treatments, and mechanical ventilation.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary based on clinical assessments.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective care plans for patients.
• Educate patients and their families on respiratory techniques and equipment usage.
• Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient care and treatment plans.
• Ensure compliance with safety and health regulations in the delivery of respiratory care services.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with the appropriate regulatory body.
• Strong knowledge of respiratory care practices and therapeutic techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with patients and healthcare teams.
• Ability to work independently and make critical decisions in high-pressure situations.
• Experience in critical care or working with ventilated patients is preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required.

Shift Information

This position requires a night shift schedule, working three 12-hour shifts. Example shift hours are from 18:30 to 07:00.

No block schedules are offered for this position. Flexibility to adapt to changing work environments and patient needs is essential.
