Directly assists operating physician with surgical tasks including hemostasis, suturing and woundexposure as well as patient positioning. Prepares operating rooms and surgical instruments and equipment for use.Complexity of Work: Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimalsupervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment.Personal Protective Equipment: Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.Minimum QualificationsLicensure / Certification / Registration: Required Credential(s): Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or jobtransfer date. One or more of the following: Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American HeartAssociation or American Red Cross accepted.Education: Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time ofhire.
