The Automotive Service Advisor plays a critical role in the service department by serving as the primary point of contact for customers. This role involves coordinating vehicle maintenance and repair services, preparing estimates, managing work orders, and ensuring smooth communication between customers, technicians, and parts suppliers. Operating within a cross-functional team structure alongside service department management, the Automotive Service Advisor primarily interacts with customers in person to provide expert guidance and support for routine and complex automotive service needs.

Responsibilities

• Interact directly with customers to assess vehicle servicing needs
• Schedule service appointments and coordinate workflow with technicians
• Prepare accurate service estimates and communicate them clearly to customers
• Manage service work orders and document all service activities
• Coordinate parts ordering and manage inventory needs
• Handle billing and invoicing processes efficiently
• Diagnose service problems by gathering information and consulting with technicians
• Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and address concerns

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in automotive service advising
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong customer service orientation
• Knowledge of automotive systems and repair procedures
• Excellent communication and time management skills
• Effective problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency with billing software and parts inventory management
• Experience with warranty documentation and conflict resolution
