Lead Software Engineer, Platform & Experience

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal software engineering training or certification, plus 5+ years of hands-on experience
• Experience designing workflow orchestration for policy-driven customer journeys and reusable sub-journey components
• Experience designing or running event-driven architectures using Kafka or similar messaging platforms
• Practical full-stack engineering experience delivering production services and user-facing tools, including backend APIs, front-end interfaces, testing, and operational support
• Experience building or maintaining CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation for secure, repeatable releases across environments
• Working knowledge of role-based access control, service ownership boundaries, and API contract design in distributed systems
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools to build, test, improve, or operate software solutions with attention to quality, security, and data sensitivity
• Experience with distributed tracing and observability across multi-service journey execution
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and resiliency and security expectations
• Experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption of AI-assisted practices within delivery workflows
• Prior experience leading migration from bespoke service implementations to reusable component models in a regulated industry
• Experience designing multi-tenant, multi-line-of-business platforms with role-based access control enforced at organizational boundaries
• Experience building or enabling AI-assisted or AI-enabled software solutions, including tool selection, responsible usage patterns, and alignment with quality, security, and compliance expectations
• Experience in a co-development or strategic vendor partnership with active roadmap influence
• API platform and developer portal engineering experience at enterprise scale

• Design and develop reusable identity sub-journey components to support onboarding across multiple lines of business
• Build the automation layer that moves configured identity journeys from approval into production, including policy checks, release controls, and full audit trails
• Establish eventing frameworks and observability standards that make multi-service journey execution visible, debuggable, and compliant
• Create developer-facing tools such as API contracts, sandbox environments, and integration templates so line-of-business teams can assemble and deploy compliant identity journeys without direct engineering support
• Mentor and develop the engineers working with us by setting technical standards, leading thorough code reviews, and upskilling the team as needed
• Build migration tooling and playbooks to move product teams from legacy bespoke implementations to shared platform services
• Drive responsible adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices, including code review, test acceleration, and incident analysis, with clear validation standards for correctness, performance, and security
• Apply software development life cycle tooling, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value delivered through automation
