Cardiac Mechanical Support Coordinator

The Cardiac Mechanical Support Coordinator is responsible for managing and troubleshooting advanced heart failure devices for inpatients and outpatients. This role requires a strong cardiac background and expertise with VAD, IABP, and Impella devices to ensure optimal device functioning and patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and monitor patients with ventricular assist devices (VAD), IABP, and Impella devices, providing expert support.
• Service and troubleshoot complex cardiac support devices both inpatient and outpatient.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans for advanced heart failure patients.
• Educate patients, families, and clinical staff on device operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation ensuring compliance with hospital protocols and standards.

Qualifications:

• Hold a current South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact RN license.
• Have at least two years of experience as a registered nurse with clinical expertise in managing advanced heart failure patients.
• Demonstrate previous experience with durable MCS devices, IABP, and Impella devices.
• Possess a minimum of one year in the CTICU or as a VAD Coordinator.
• Be BLS certified and able to demonstrate strong cardiac background and troubleshooting skills.
