AI Operations Lead

The AI Operations Lead is the critical bridge between the technology team and the rest of the business. This role owns the demand pipeline from internal stakeholders, translates business needs into actionable technical specifications, drives adoption of AI focused platforms, tools, agents, and automations, and ensures every solution deployed actually changes how people work. This person thinks about every problem through the lens of AI and automation. They are also deeply embedded in the company’s key business platforms-including facility management systems like storEDGE, CRM tools, marketing platforms, and other operational systems-because data quality and business process integrity flow through those platforms. Those platforms are foundational to the unified data platform and to building reliable AI agents. This person will need to help own and steward certain components of those platforms to ensure data accuracy, process adherence, and downstream reliability. This is not a traditional project manager or business analyst role, and we are not looking for a traditional resume. The tools and technologies in this space are evolving so rapidly that specific experience matters far less than the right mindset. We are looking for someone who is relentlessly curious, a natural problem solver, and has the instinct to dive into unfamiliar systems, tools, and challenges and figure them out. The right person for this role may come from an unconventional background-what matters most is how they think, how they learn, and how they attack problems. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Demand Management: Own the intake, triage, and prioritization of technology requests from operations, investments, marketing, accounting, and construction. Maintain a living backlog that reflects real business priorities. Business Translation: Take ambiguous business problems and translate them into clear, actionable specifications the technology team can build against. Reshape requests through an AI-first lens, identifying where agents and automations can solve problems more effectively than traditional approaches. Platform Stewardship: Serve as a key point of ownership for business-critical platforms (storEDGE, CRM, marketing tools, and others). Ensure data flowing through these systems is accurate, complete, and structured in a way that supports the unified data platform and AI agent ecosystem. Coordinate with vendors and internal teams on configuration, data quality, and process alignment. Adoption and Enablement: Own the rollout of every new platform, tool, agent, or automation. Ensure teams are trained, actively using solutions, providing feedback, and realizing value. Track adoption metrics and close the loop between deployment and impact. Feedback Loops: Continuously gather input from business users on what is working, what is not, and what is needed. Bring structured feedback to the technology team to inform iteration and roadmap decisions. Process Documentation: Map current business processes, identify inefficiencies, and document target-state workflows that incorporate AI agents and automation. Cross-Functional Coordination: Work directly with VPs of Operations, Investments, Marketing, Accounting, and Development to understand their priorities and ensure technology initiatives align with business objectives. The right candidate will demonstrate the following: Figure-it-out mentality: When faced with an unfamiliar tool, system, or problem, your instinct is to dig in, experiment, and learn-not wait for instructions. You are resourceful and self-directed. Genuine curiosity about AI: You are actively exploring AI tools and thinking about how they change the way work gets done. This isn’t just professional interest-it’s something you’re drawn to. Strong problem-solving instincts: You can take a messy, ambiguous problem, break it down, and move it toward a solution. You don’t need everything defined before you start making progress. Communication across audiences: You can translate between technical and non-technical stakeholders fluently. You are comfortable presenting to leadership and equally comfortable sitting with an operations team member to understand their daily workflow. Comfort with business systems: You can learn to navigate platforms like property management software, CRM tools, and data systems without needing developer-level hand-holding. You don’t need to have used these specific tools before, but you need to be the type of person who can get dropped into any system and become proficient quickly. Bias toward action: You would rather try something and iterate than spend weeks planning. You are comfortable with imperfection in pursuit of progress. Some professional experience (2+ years) in a role that involved working across technology and business functions is helpful-solutions engineering, operations technology, technical consulting, internal tools, or similar-but we are open to non-traditional backgrounds if the mindset is right.
