The Registered Nurse plans, implements, coordinates and evaluates nursing care for patients. This role participates in patient and family teaching and provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing personnel and other patient team members in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. Key responsibilities include:

• Assessing and monitoring patient conditions; initiating and adjusting care plans as needed.
• Responding promptly to changes in patient status with appropriate interventions.
• Administering medications and performing treatments in accordance with policy.
• Providing hygiene and comfort measures to support patient well-being.
• Educating patients and families; identifying and addressing emotional and psychosocial needs.
• Collaborating and communicating effectively with physicians and healthcare teams.
• Identifying and managing patient risks, including falls and skin breakdown.
• Following infection control and safety procedures, including proper body mechanics.
• Completing documentation, shift reports, and assigned tasks accurately and on time.
• Prioritizing multiple tasks and using time efficiently to deliver patient-centered care.

Qualifications:

• Must be licensed to practice as a registered nurse in Louisiana.
