Job Summary:
The Repair Technician is responsible for handling customer support cases related to repair and maintenance of carports, roll-up doors, and other structures. This role involves traveling to customer sites using a company vehicle to complete scheduled repairs, troubleshoot issues, and, if necessary, install replacement parts. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, customer service skills, and the ability to work independently to resolve on-site repair needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform on-site repairs of carports, roll-up doors, and other metal structures as outlined in support cases.
- Install roll-up doors and complete necessary maintenance or adjustments to ensure proper functionality.
- Diagnose issues and provide repair solutions for customers, ensuring repairs meet company quality standards.
- Maintain thorough documentation of all repairs completed, including parts used, time spent, and any follow-up actions required.
- Communicate effectively with the customer to explain repairs, answer questions, and ensure satisfaction.
- Use the company-provided vehicle responsibly, keeping it in clean and operational condition, and report any issues promptly.
- Follow all safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment on each site.
- Provide feedback to the Shop Manager on common issues, product improvements, or other trends noted during repairs.
- Occasionally assist with other repair needs or installations as assigned by the Shop Manager.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; trade certification or related technical training preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in repair, installation, or maintenance work, ideally involving metal structures or roll-up doors.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule.
- Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy materials and work in various weather conditions.
