Associate Financial Advisor

Job Description Job Description The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Associate Financial Advisor to join our team with a clear path toward future ownership and leadership of the practice. This is a unique succession opportunity for a seasoned professional who wants to merge their existing practice with an established firm, deepen client relationships, and ultimately lead a thriving wealth management firm. The ideal candidate is a proven advisor at a mid-career inflection point—someone with significant experience and an existing book of business who is ready to take on greater responsibility and is motivated by the prospect of business ownership rather than simply employment. Responsibilities Develop and maintain long-term relationships with clients, serving as their trusted advisor through all life transitions Deliver comprehensive financial planning, including retirement planning, investment management, tax strategies, and estate planning Collaborate with our CPA team on integrated tax planning strategies Conduct client meetings, portfolio reviews, and financial plan presentations Identify opportunities to deepen existing client relationships and grow the practice Participate in business development activities and community engagement Work closely with the Founder to learn the practice's operations, client base, and business philosophy in preparation for future leadership Qualifications Required: Minimum 5 years of experience as a financial advisor with direct client relationship management Existing book of business with portable client relationships Active Series 65 or Series 66 license (or ability to obtain promptly) Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics, or related field Demonstrated ability to build and retain client relationships Strong communication and presentation skills Commitment to fiduciary standards and client-first service Strongly Preferred: CFP® (Certified Financial Planner) designation CPA, EA, or tax advisory experience/credentials Experience with comprehensive wealth management (not just investment management) Familiarity with retirement income planning and distribution strategies Experience working with business owners, executives, and high-net-worth clients What We Offer Competitive compensation with performance-based incentives Clear succession pathway with defined timeline and milestones Established client base and strong community reputation Partnership with Carson Partners, providing access to national resources, research, and support Collaborative, client-centered culture Opportunity to shape and lead the future of a respected practice Location This is a hybrid position with flexibility for remote work.
