Reverse Mortgage Loan Officer

Overview

New American Funding's Reverse Mortgage Division is focused on helping homeowners age 62 and older understand and access the equity they have built in their homes to support their financial and retirement goals.

Reverse Mortgage Loan Consultants are experienced, self-generating mortgage professionals responsible for sourcing and generating new business, developing and maintaining referral relationships, and guiding borrowers through the reverse mortgage process. Loan Consultants leverage their existing professional networks while building new relationships with borrowers, referral partners, and industry professionals to grow their business and provide personalized reverse mortgage solutions based on each customer's individual needs and financial goals.

Location: Remote

Salary: Commission Based (Basis Points TBD)

Responsibilities

• Builds rapport and leverages existing relationships with network and potential borrowers with the goal of helping customers achieve their mortgage financing goals.
• Consult with customers and analyze their financial situations to provide the appropriate solution and advice as to the best loan product for each customer.
• Ensure each loan meets the customer's needs as well as quality and marketability standards of New American Funding.
• Understand the process of loan origination and manage the loan application process in conjunction with operational support staff.
• Input and upload application and customer's information into loan origination software.
• Structure and price loans accurately and in accordance with NAF guidelines.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

1. Two or more years' full time reverse loan origination experience.
2. Possess good judgment, problem solving and researching skills, and the ability to accept responsibility, complex situations and handle confidential information.
3. Ability to structure and price loans.
4. Active NMLS license.
5. Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
6. Self-motivated, self-starting mortgage professional.
7. Experience with reverse mortgage loan product

Desired Education/Experience:

1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); two or more years' full time reverse loan origination experience in local market.
2. Proven results as a loan originator and successful track record of strong production.
3. Proven ability to self-source reverse mortgage business through an established network of referral partners, past clients, community relationships, and other business-development activities.
