Patient Registration Representative

Under general supervision, follows standard operating procedures and protocols for all bedside patient registration activities. Activities include patient reception, face-to-face check-in, preregistration, confirmation of insurance eligibility, and cash collections. Performs new patient registration and updates registration and insurance information. Responds to inquiries from all callers and customers. Advocates on the caller/customer's behalf to ensure their needs are met. Acts as a welcoming front door for all callers and customers, instilling loyalty and anticipating needs. Provides efficient and effective customer relationship management. Candidate must be dependable and punctual. This is an entry-level position with a preference for candidates who have experience using medical terminology. Candidates should be able to meet or exceed core customer service responsibilities, standards, and behaviors effectively over the telephone, in person, and in writing. Must be willing to be on their feet for long periods and capable of instructing others. Ability to perform a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions is required. Preferred skills include EPIC training and experience, insurance payor systems experience, and ICD-10 medical terminology experience. Required education is a high school diploma.
