Job Title: Activity Therapy Leader

Workplace: Central State Hospital Milledgeville GA

Shift: 8am-5pm

Job Summary:

Under broad supervision provides therapeutic programming that helps individuals develop and practice essential life-management skills needed for successful functioning in the home community workplace and personal relationships.

Employment Requirements

Plans direct or coordinates therapeutic recreation programs.

Able to assist with activities such as sports gardening dramatics music social activities and arts and crafts.

Conducts assessment of an individuals condition and recommends appropriate recreational activity.

May transport and/or accompanies clients to treatment units using a wheelchair or stretcher.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in a therapeutic recreation or related therapeutic discipline from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of job-related experience which includes one (1) year in a lead worker team leader or supervisory role or one (1) year of experience at the lower level Activity Therapist 3 (HCP062) or position equivalent.--Note: Some positions may require registration in the area of assignment.
