Office Engineer

Key Responsibilities Prepare construction change orders and supporting documentation, including independent cost estimates and memoranda. Log, review, track, and respond to RFIs and submittals. Draft and manage project correspondence, including letters to contractors and project stakeholders. Prepare and review monthly quantity sheets (Q-sheets) and assist with progress estimates. Attend and document project meetings, including preparing agendas and meeting minutes. Review and track contractor progress schedules. Maintain project records, including monthly estimates and weekly project status reports. Perform constructability reviews of transportation projects. Required Skills and Experience Minimum of three (3) years of experience in office engineering on transportation or major public works projects. 4+ years experience is preferred. Experience preparing Caltrans contract change orders. Knowledge of Caltrans standard plans, specifications, procedures, and Construction Manual. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational and recordkeeping abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.). Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and team‑focused professional who thrives in a collaborative environment. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
