About the role:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior SAP FICO Consultant with strong Vertex integration experience to support a tactical SAP Finance staff augmentation initiative.

This role requires a hands-on SAP Finance professional with 15+ years of experience supporting ECC and S/4HANA Finance environments, including configuration, troubleshooting, hypercare support, testing coordination, and financial data reconciliation.

The ideal candidate has strong production support experience and can independently resolve complex SAP Finance and tax integration issues during critical month-end close activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform hands-on SAP ECC and S/4HANA Finance (FICO) configuration and troubleshooting
• Resolve high-priority production support tickets and system bottlenecks
• Support month-end and year-end financial close processes
• Support and troubleshoot SAP–Vertex tax integration issues
• Work closely with Finance, Accounting, and Tax stakeholders
• Create and maintain Functional Design Documents (FDDs), process maps, and user documentation
• Lead data migration, cleansing, validation, and reconciliation activities using LTMC and/or LSMW
• Ensure financial data integrity between SAP and legacy systems
• Coordinate and execute Unit Testing, SIT, and UAT activities
• Develop detailed test scripts and manage defect resolution
• Support hypercare and post-go-live stabilization initiatives
• Collaborate with cross-functional technical and business teams

Required Qualifications:

• 15+ years of SAP FICO experience
• Strong SAP ECC and S/4HANA Finance experience
• Hands-on SAP Finance configuration expertise
• Proven Vertex integration and support experience
• Strong production support and troubleshooting background
• Experience supporting critical financial close cycles
• Experience with LTMC and/or LSMW
• Strong testing, documentation, and defect management experience
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with indirect tax processes and compliance
• Prior hypercare or stabilization project experience
• SAP S/4HANA implementation experience
• CPA or Finance background preferred
• Large enterprise SAP environment experience
