Academic and Enrichment Coordinator
$27 per hourNative-American-Youth-and-Family-Center-
Description NAYA Family Center is seeking a creative, organized, and youth-centered Academic and Enrichment Coordinator to join our Youth and Education Services team. This role creates engaging learning and enrichment opportunities for Native youth in grades 2–8 throughout the school year, as well as during spring and summer breaks. As the Academic and Enrichment Coordinator, you'll help turn program goals into meaningful, hands‑on experiences that support academic growth, cultural connection, personal development, and wellness. You'll coordinate daily programming, build relationships with schools and community partners, support youth goal plans, and help create a welcoming, culturally responsive environment where young people are encouraged to learn, grow, and thrive. If you're someone who enjoys working with youth, organizing engaging programs, building community partnerships, and creating opportunities for young people to connect with their culture and reach their goals, this role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact. NAYA offers an exceptional benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) with up to 6% match, 16 paid holidays, and sick and vacation accrual that increases with tenure. This is a full‑time, non‑exempt position with general working hours of 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Some schedule flexibility is available with approval, and occasional evenings and weekends may be required. Pay for this position is $27.00 per hour. Who You Are You have knowledge of Native American history and understand the diversity of local American Indian and Alaska Native communities and the Urban Indian experience. You are passionate about helping young people succeed academically while creating opportunities for cultural connection, personal growth, and enrichment. You have experience working with youth in educational, after‑school, out‑of‑school‑time, or youth development settings, particularly with culturally diverse and low‑income communities. You enjoy creating engaging, age‑appropriate activities and can confidently support youth in grades 2–8 through tutoring, educational activities, enrichment, and experiential learning. You understand trauma‑informed care and the Relational Worldview Model and value culturally responsive approaches to working with youth and families. You are highly organized and can manage schedules, programs, participant records, grant requirements, and competing priorities while following through on commitments. You are comfortable building partnerships with schools, community organizations, volunteers, and other service providers to expand opportunities for youth. You are a strong communicator who can facilitate activities, lead presentations and trainings, write clearly, and listen actively. You are adaptable, thoughtful, and able to remain calm and use sound judgment when navigating challenging situations. You are comfortable using Microsoft Office, databases, email, web‑based tools, and social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. A bachelor's degree in Education, Public Administration, Communications, Social Work, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent education and relevant experience may be considered. Experience with grant writing, reporting, evaluation, and program management is a plus. What You'll Do Coordinate curriculum, schedules, and daily activities for weekday out‑of‑school‑time programming throughout the academic year. Plan and coordinate spring and summer camp programming for youth in grades 2–8. Create engaging opportunities that support academic growth, cultural connection, wellness, and personal development. Use the Relational Worldview Model to support youth in creating and working toward individualized goals that may include academic support, cultural arts, and wellness activities. Build and maintain partnerships with schools, community organizations, social service agencies, and volunteers to strengthen NAYA's youth programming. Coordinate volunteers and connect them with youth participating in on‑site programming, including partnerships with Portland State University's Capstone Program. Support youth and families through direct assistance, transportation, events, workshops, and other Culture, Education, and Wellness programming. Maintain accurate youth records, attendance, goal plans, and other documentation needed to track outcomes and meet grant reporting requirements. Support grant and report writing by providing program information, maintaining consistent data, and preparing youth success stories. Use social media and web‑based tools to communicate with families and organize programming. Participate in staff meetings, trainings, community events, and cross‑departmental projects. Contribute as an active member of the Culture, Education, and Wellness team and support NAYA's commitment to providing safe, culturally responsive, and meaningful experiences for Native youth. NAYA is committed to building a work environment that respects and inspires every community member. Our mission is to serve Urban Native youth and families, so we strongly encourage members of the Native community to apply. We encourage applications from members of other historically marginalized groups as well, including women, people of color, those with disabilities, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and those who have served in the military. #J-18808-Ljbffr Native-American-Youth-and-Family-Center-
