Network Support Engineer

DTS IT Staffing is seeking reliable and skilled Freelance Onsite Network L1 Support Engineers to provide hands-on IT and network support at client locations across the USA. This opportunity is ideal for independent IT professionals looking for flexible, project-based assignments. Key Responsibilities Provide onsite Level 1 network and desktop support. Install, configure, and troubleshoot routers, switches, wireless access points, firewalls, and network-connected devices. Perform hardware installations, replacements, and cable management. Diagnose and resolve basic network connectivity issues (LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN). Support end users with workstation, printer, and peripheral issues. Execute IMAC (Install, Move, Add, Change) activities. Document work performed and update service tickets with accurate details. Escalate complex technical issues to senior engineering teams when necessary. Follow client procedures, SLAs, and safety standards. Qualifications 3+ year of experience in IT Help Desk, Field Services, or Network Support. Basic understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, VPN, routing, and switching. Experience with Cisco, Fortinet, Aruba, Juniper, Ubiquiti, or similar networking equipment is a plus. Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills. Ability to work independently in onsite environments. Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally for service calls. Ability to lift and install standard IT equipment when required.
