Travel RN - ICU

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Neuro ICU position at a large Level I Trauma Center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of Neuro ICU experience and active CT or compact RN license.

Job Details

• Neuro Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at a large, academic Level I Trauma Center with 1,500+ staffed beds,
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM,
• Average patient ratio of 1:2,
• Every other weekend required,
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs,
• Charting on Epic EMR,
• No on-call requirement,
• Parking available at $125/month,

Job Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license required; pending license accepted (CT license takes 15-21 business days to issue, so early application is strongly advised),
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience within the Neuro ICU specialty required,
• Neuro ICU experience required; Trauma Level I experience preferred,
• Experience at a large trauma center required,
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS,
• Proficient skills required: IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care/management, care of ventilated patients, continuous IV sedation, ABG interpretation, CVA/acute stroke management, ICP monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, and isolation precautions/PPE,
• Preferred skills: post-neurosurgery management,
• Candidates must not have any prior disciplinary actions on their nursing license,
• 1 professional reference required for consideration,

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply,
• Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position,
• Former permanent staff of this health system must have been separated for at least 2 years before being considered as a traveler,
• RTO of up to 7 days can be approved; RTO exceeding 7 days requires additional facility approval,
• Block scheduling is not available for this assignment,
• Flu vaccination is required; declinations are not accepted,
• COVID vaccination required; religious and medical exemptions are accepted,
• Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or other emergency response activities as needed
