As a Junior Prototype Model - Mold Maker , you'll play a hands-on role in creating precision components and production tooling using both conventional and CNC machining equipment. Working alongside experienced machinists and engineers, you'll interpret blueprints, develop machining setups, fabricate high-quality parts to exact specifications, and contribute ideas that improve manufacturability and reduce tooling costs. This onsite Lakewood, CO opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working with advanced manufacturing technologies, and continuously developing their technical skills in a collaborative environment that values craftsmanship, innovation, and professional growth.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Utilizes advanced knowledge to program and produce precision parts on Conventional and CNC Machine Tools.
• Produces products utilizing a variety of machining equipment to specified tolerances and finishes.
• Provides proper care and maintenance of tools, equipment, and facilities including general housekeeping.
• Works from routine and complex prints, sketches, drawn points, or verbal directions to fabricate precision machined parts and production tooling.
• Can originate simple and/or complex setups.
• Inspects work for compliance with blueprints, process sheets, and written or verbal specifications using basic inspection equipment.
• Designs, plans, and executes the sequences of related technical operations for fabrication of precision parts or molds.
• Provides input to designers or engineers on parts configuration with alternative solutions for reduction of manufacturing complexity and tooling costs.
• Services machinery or equipment and maintains facilities.
• Interacts as a team member sharing ideas and machining experience.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education

• High school diploma or GED.
• Participating in or have achieved formal education in the use of manual and/or CNC machines would be beneficial.

Experience

1-2 years of experience is preferred.

Skills

• Ability to learn machining to the level of tolerance required by company products.

• Ability to comprehend and interpret blueprints.
• Ability to learn the use of shop mathematics including applicable trigonometry.
• Ability to learn the use in tool room grinding, tool and die work, sheet metal, mold making and fixture development.
• Ability to provide a high level of customer service & teamwork.
• Ability and willingness to commit to continuous learning and to keep up with changing technologies in the field of model/mold making.

• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

• Basic proficiency on all standard/nonstandard shop tools and equipment.

• Knowledge and use of relevant CAD/CAM software applications and skills to use them effectively is a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Target Pay Range: $28.00to$35.00- Hourly pay rateto be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base: 7.0%
