Location:Staten Island N.Y 

Live Wire Electric, an established electrical contracting company, is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our team. As an Electrical Estimator, you will play a crucial role in computing cost factors, preparing estimates, and contributing to the success of our projects. Accubid experience is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

Compute cost factors and prepare estimates for various purposes, including bidding, vendor/subcontractor selection, and cost-effectiveness assessment.
Understand the submittal process and estimating job costs for bids.
Perform take-offs, prepare contract support documents, and maintain as-builts for projects.
Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare accurate time, cost, and labor estimates.
Utilize your experience in the Utility Industry and estimating knowledge related to transmission, distribution, and substation projects.
Requirements:

 

1. Minimum of 5 years of field experience.
2. Proficiency in using Accubid.
3. Ability to interpret blueprints.
4. Regularly update cost databases to reflect changing material and labor costs.
5. Knowledge of electrical systems, NEC, and NYC DOB Codes.
6. Strong analytical, organizational, verbal, written, and communication skills.
7. Self-driven with the ability to stay focused on tasks.
8. Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Project.
9. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year

Qualifications:

Electrical Estimating: 5 years (Preferred)

Accubid Proficiency
Work Location: In-person

Additional Responsibilities for Senior Electrical Estimator :

Read and interpret job plans and specifications to develop complete and accurate takeoffs for bid preparation.
Provide post-bid follow-up on projects, including negotiating scope and pricing with clients and offering value engineering solutions.
Attend pre-bid meetings as required or manage Precon staff to attend 
Collaborate with the construction team during the budgeting and project kickoff processes.
Prepare estimates for multiple projects simultaneously.

 

Qualifications for Senior Electrical Estimator:

5+ years of commercial estimating experience.
Proven track record of securing profitable projects.
McCormick or Accubid estimating experience preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Design/Build experience is a plus.
