About the Role
The Company is in search of a Chief Development Officer (CDO) to lead its philanthropic efforts with a focus on donor engagement and relationship-building. The CDO will be responsible for creating and implementing a comprehensive development strategy that aligns with the organization's mission and values. This includes leading fundraising campaigns, working with the executive team to set long-term fundraising priorities, and ensuring that all development activities are in compliance with ethical standards and best practices. The role also involves fostering a culture of philanthropy, both within the organization and with external partners, and providing regular updates on fundraising performance to the CEO and other stakeholders. Candidates for the CDO position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in a related field, with a Master's degree preferred, and at least 10 years of experience in executive leadership within the nonprofit sector. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in leading successful fundraising programs, including major and principal gifts, and will be adept at managing a large, cross-functional team. Strong communication, relationship-building, and analytical skills are essential, as is the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders. The CDO must also be committed to the organization's faith-based mission and values, and be able to demonstrate a deep understanding of philanthropic principles and practices.
