Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Oncology Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/21/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Job Summary Medical Surgical Oncology Nurse, located in the region, provides specialized care for patients undergoing treatment for cancer and general medical surgical conditions. This role involves working within a unit that manages oncology and general medical surgical patients, including hospice inpatients, with full telemetry capabilities and a focus on patient safety and quality care. Job Details Position Description: Unit MedSurg Oncology (Medical Surgical Oncology) with beds set up to serve oncology and general surgical patients, including hospice inpatient care. The unit supports full telemetry with reading and interpreting cardiac rhythms, managing titratable and set rate drips such as Heparin and Cardizem, with experience in dysrhythmia recognition required. The team manages patients with diagnoses ranging from oncology to related surgical and medical conditions. The unit features CPAP or BiPAP respiratory equipment, with nurses managing breathing treatments and trach suctioning. Required Qualifications: BLS Certification; Oncology experience is a must; Min experience required: 2 years; location: within the specified region; schedule: Days, 12-hour shift, minimum 36 hours weekly; must pass a dysrhythmia exam during onboarding; willing to wait for license submission. Preferred Qualifications: Chemo certification through an Oncology Nursing Society provider card is preferred. Responsibilities: Providing patient care, interpreting telemetry strips, managing titratable drips, performing respiratory treatments, and maintaining patient safety within a fast-paced oncology and surgical unit. Schedule: Days, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, every other weekend, rotating holiday schedule, with occasional floating within the Med Surg/Telemetry service line in accordance with union policies. Additional Information: The unit requires experience with central lines and port access, sterile dressing changes, and teamwork during patient care activities. Orientation includes Epic system training and a maximum of 2 days with a preceptor. The unit functions across multiple facilities in the region and may require floating throughout the region as needed.
