About the Position

Job Title

Registered Nurse – Cardiac/Telemetry Stepdown (7N)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 29-bed Cardiac/Telemetry Stepdown unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5–6
• Monitor and titrate cardiac drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Integrelin, Heparin, Ativan, Lasix, and Nitro (up to 50 mcg)
• Read and independently interpret telemetry strips using Philips monitoring equipment
• Care for patients with diagnoses including cardiac conditions, post-cath, AMI, post-PCI, post-operative lung surgeries, respiratory failure, chest tubes, and pacemakers
• Collaborate with CNA support staff, charge nurses available 24/7, and Respiratory Therapy managing CPAP and BiPap equipment
• Participate in weekend rotation (every other weekend, Saturday/Sunday) and holiday rotation with permanent staff

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in good standing
• Current BLS certification (required)
• Current ACLS certification (required)
• Demonstrated ability to titrate IV drips independently
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry/cardiac strips
• Natural nails required; no false/artificial nails permitted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a cardiac, telemetry, or stepdown unit setting
• Familiarity with post-cath, post-PCI, and chest tube patient care
• Experience working with Philips telemetry monitoring systems
