Veterinary Technician Supervisor

BluePearl Pet Hospital – Overnight ER Veterinary Assistant BluePearl Pet Hospital in Midtown, NYC is seeking a compassionate and experienced Overnight ER Veterinary Assistant to join our team! Schedule: Thursday - Saturday, 7pm - 7am. Pay: $22.50 - $32.80 per hour + competitive shift differentials. Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum. Mon - Fri: 6pm to 8am = $4.50/hr. Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $4.50/hr. Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $8.00/hr. Our Veterinary Assistants triage emergency cases as they come in and assist the DVM with crafting and going over estimates as needed. In addition, they perform diagnostics (radiographs, labwork, etc.), set patients up in ICU or Inpatient ward, discharge patients, and handle client communication. Responsibilities Assist with nursing care to patients according to hospital standards of care and core values. Stock, clean, and maintain cleanliness in our ER, ICU, and other designated areas for the role. Understand classification of commonly used medications, associated side effects and appropriately monitor therapeutic response. Administer medications via appropriate routes and durations under the guidance of an LVT. Perform radiography and lab work. Perform physical exam; accurately count heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort. Engage with clients by performing triages, going over estimates and providing discharge instructions. Remain current on R.E.C.O.V.E.R CPR guidelines and demonstrate proficiency in the designated role as assigned by attending clinician and/or supervisor.
