Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician inspects, troubleshoots, maintains, repairs, and installs production machinery, equipment, and facility systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation in a manufacturing environment. This role focuses on diagnosing mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical issues, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, and supporting production teams to minimize downtime and improve overall equipment performance.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and install production machinery, equipment, and facility systems to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical issues and perform timely repairs to minimize equipment downtime.
• Observe equipment operation and use inspection, testing, and troubleshooting techniques to identify the root cause of mechanical or operational issues.
• Disassemble, repair, replace, and reassemble machine components and equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company standards.
• Inspect equipment components for wear, damage, and dimensional accuracy to determine appropriate repair or replacement needs.
• Adjust, align, calibrate, and test machinery and control systems to verify proper operation following maintenance or repairs.
• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities according to established schedules and maintenance plans.
• Lubricate, clean, and maintain machinery and equipment to maximize reliability, performance, and service life.
• Set up and operate machine shop equipment, including lathes, drill presses, grinders, welders, plasma cutters, and other fabrication tools to repair or fabricate components as needed.
• Read and interpret blueprints, equipment manuals, technical drawings, work orders, and specifications to perform maintenance and repairs accurately.
• Complete and maintain maintenance work orders, repair records, and other required documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
• Maintain an organized inventory of spare parts, tools, and maintenance supplies, and initiate purchase requisitions when replenishment is needed.
• Assist with the installation, relocation, modification, and commissioning of machinery and production equipment.
• Understand the basic operating functions of production equipment to effectively diagnose equipment issues and support production needs.
• Inspect tools, equipment, and work areas to identify unsafe conditions and ensure compliance with safety policies and applicable regulations.
• Transport tools, equipment, materials, and replacement parts between work areas and storage locations as needed to support maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with production personnel, vendors, and cross-functional teams to support operational efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and production support needs to minimize operational disruptions.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 13 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
• Proven mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting experience with production machinery and equipment.
• Experience working with pneumatic systems in an industrial setting.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues.
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments to diagnose, repair, and maintain production equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with a focus on minimizing downtime and improving equipment reliability.
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment with minimal supervision.
• Capability to read and interpret blueprints, equipment manuals, technical drawings, work orders, and specifications.
• Understanding of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance practices in an industrial environment.
• Commitment to following safety policies and procedures in a manufacturing facility.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with industrial maintenance in a manufacturing or production facility.
• Hands-on experience with hydraulics and basic electrical systems.
• Comfort operating machine shop equipment such as lathes, drill presses, grinders, welders, and plasma cutters.
• Ability to maintain organized records, documentation, and inventory of parts and tools.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with production teams and vendors.
• Detail-oriented approach to inspecting equipment components for wear, damage, and dimensional accuracy.
• Adaptability to respond to changing production priorities and urgent repair needs.

Work Environment

This role is based in a production facility that is generally well organized but can be hot in certain areas, with some dust and wood grinds present on the ground. The environment is industrial and hands-on, requiring comfort working around machinery, tools, and fabrication equipment while adhering to safety practices and maintaining an orderly workspace.

Job Type & Location

This is a permanent position based out of Erlanger, KY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $58420.00 - $68640.00/yr. 401k match up to 8%, employee owned so get stock and say in the company.
