Staff Accountant Temporary-to-Hire | Miami | Full-Time, In-Office About the Opportunity A growing professional services organization is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its accounting team in its Brickell office. This is a temporary-to-hire opportunity with excellent long-term potential for the right candidate. Law firm experience is not required. We are seeking an accounting professional with a solid foundation in general accounting who is organized, analytical, comfortable working with financial data, and ready to learn the accounting processes specific to a professional services environment. Responsibilities Maintain general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries Assist with monthly and year-end closing procedures Perform bank, operating account, and other account reconciliations Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions Support billing, invoicing, expense tracking, and collections Prepare and assist with financial reports, including balance sheets and profit and loss statements Review financial information and research discrepancies and variances Assist with client account and trust account reconciliations Support audit and tax preparation as needed Work closely with accounting leadership and other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information Assist with additional accounting projects and responsibilities as needed Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Approximately 2–4 years of accounting experience Strong understanding of general accounting principles and GAAP Experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, journal entries, AP/AR, and financial reporting Strong Microsoft Excel skills Experience with accounting or financial software Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve discrepancies Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines A Plus, But Not Required Professional services or law firm accounting experience Experience with QuickBooks, Elite, Aderant, Clio, or similar systems Exposure to client billing or trust accounting CPA certification or progress toward certification Position Details Location: Miami, FL Schedule: Monday–Friday, Full-Time, In-Office Status: Temporary-to-Hire This is an excellent opportunity for an accountant looking to join a large, established national organization and expand their experience in a professional services environment.
