Key ResponsibilitiesProduct Strategy & VisionDefine and execute the long-term product vision to position SkillUp as the leading career navigation platform for non-degree workers.Lead the strategy and prioritization of SkillUp's product portfolioincluding content, career resources, wraparound supports, and partner experiencesensuring every investment advances equitable economic mobility.Lead product strategy for integrating agentic AI capabilities into the platform to enhance personalization, curation, and user guidance while maintaining human-centered experiences and responsible AI practices.Build and lead a high-performing product organization, including hiring, coaching, and developing product management talent grounded in user research, customer insights, and data-informed decision making.Develop and cultivate a product-centered culture across the organization, helping teams make decisions grounded in user needs, evidence, measurable outcomes, and continuous learning.Establish frameworks for evaluating product performance, ROI, and social impact to inform product strategy, organizational learning, and funder engagement.Serve as the primary cross-functional leader for product, aligning Engineering, Partnerships, Growth, Marketing, Data & Analytics, and Operations around product priorities, delivery, adoption, and measurable outcomes.Product Development & ExecutionOversee the end-to-end product lifecyclefrom concept and discovery through launch, iteration, and continuous improvementanchored in user research, data insights, and measurable outcomes.Own and communicate a product roadmap that balances user impact, organizational priorities, technical feasibility, and long-term platform sustainability in partnership with Engineering.Facilitate cross-functional prioritization and establish clear product decision-making frameworks that align stakeholders around priorities, trade-offs, and investment decisions.Ensure high-quality, timely delivery of product initiatives by fostering strong collaboration across Product, Engineering, and cross-functional teams.AI & User OutcomesDefine the product strategy for AI-enabled experiences, ensuring AI capabilities solve meaningful user problems and advance SkillUp's mission.Partner with Engineering and AI leaders to establish guardrails, evaluation frameworks, transparency standards, and responsible AI practices across the product portfolio.Define product success metrics and partner across teams to ensure data systems capture, interpret, and report meaningful worker outcomes that inform continuous product improvement.Leadership & CollaborationPartner with SkillUp's executive team, fundraising, and partnerships leaders to align product strategy with organizational priorities, philanthropic investments, and long-term growth.Drive collaboration with external partners, workforce organizations, employers, and funders to co-create solutions that respond to market needs and expand SkillUp's impact.Represent SkillUp externally as a thought leader in product strategy, responsible AI, career navigation, and workforce innovation.Qualifications 10+ years of experience in product management, product leadership, or related disciplines, including experience building and scaling digital products. Experience in workforce development, education technology, healthcare navigation, or other social impact sectors preferred.Proven track record leading Product and Design organizations and partnering effectively with Engineering teams to deliver impactful technology solutions.Knowledge of and deep curiosity about AI and machine learning systems, including experience shaping AI-enabled product strategies and collaborating with technical experts to deliver responsible AI experiences.Working knowledge of AI concepts sufficient to evaluate opportunities, understand trade-offs, and inform product strategy.Strong understanding of product management, human-centered design, user research methodologies, experimentation, and data-informed decision making.Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences and translate complex concepts into actionable product decisions.Experience building products that serve diverse or historically underserved populations.Demonstrated ability to balance innovation with disciplined execution in ambiguous environments.Strong facilitation and stakeholder management skills with experience influencing across functions without direct authority.Commitment to SkillUp's mission of creating economic mobility opportunities for non-degree workers.And while all of the above qualifications are important, there are three demonstrated capabilities most important for this job, and they are (blatantly borrowed from Jeff Weiner of LinkedIn):Dream BigGet Sh*t DoneKnow How to Have FunCompensation & Benefits Target salary for this position is $175,000$200,000, depending on experience, geography, and internal equity.SkillUp offers a generous compensation package which includes employer-sponsored healthcare, vision and dental, 401K employer match, 25 days of office closure, PTO, education stipend, and annual salary increases based on performance.Our Commitment to Diversity At SkillUp, our mission is to help workers get hired for in-demand jobs in high-growth industries.
