Job Description
Role: RN - Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Schedule:
- Weekend requirement: 8 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule (combination of Fri/Sat/Sun)
- Patient ratios: 2:1 (days, nights, weekends)
- Guaranteed hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks

Requirements:
- Minimum years of RN ICU experience: 2
- Required critical care exposure: Cardiovascular ICU / Medical & Surgical ICU skills expected
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS
- Experience with special patient types: STEMI, complex heart failure, post-code, complex cardiac with Impella/IABP support, LVAD (1+ year post), complex medical patients
- Charting system: Epic

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in a multi-disciplinary environment.
- Monitor and assess patients' conditions, administering medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Conduct hemodynamic monitoring and interventions as necessary.
- Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, and care plans.
- Ensure adherence to infection prevention protocols and recognize signs of infection in immunosuppressed patients.

Compliance / Notes:
- Vaccine requirements: Influenza vaccine is required (medical/religious exemptions only)
- Floating between departments, units, and facilities may be required.
- Max 7 days Request Time Off (RTO) must be finalized at submission.
