If you are a friendly, motivated person, with a passion to serve others, the Omni Berkshire Place may be your perfect match. : The Room Service Order Taker / Cashier is responsible for taking all guests' R/S orders, communicating them to the servers and working to expedite their service; performing all control and revenue related paperwork. Responsibilities: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Responsible to answer the phone within three rings.
- Take orders for guests.
- Must follow prepared scenario to encourage upselling.
- Give the approximate time of delivery for the order.
- Prepare payment of checks.
- Knowledge of food menu and wine list.
- Know and adhere to all liability laws.
- Printing of reports at the end of the shift and banking out.
- Attend all designated staff meetings and training sessions.
HOTEL SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS: - None
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS: - Respond to any reasonable task as assigned by supervisor or manager.
- Complete other duties assigned.
TOOLS/EQUIPMENT: - Coffee maker/urn, toaster, microwave, beverage machines, bus trays, dishware, silverware, glassware, queen-mary cart, telephone, pen/pencil, photo-copying machine
- Walk-in refrigerator, Room Service tables, hot box
ENVIRONMENT: - Interior of hotel, in the restaurant, kitchen and guestroom. Exposure to extreme temperatures.
- Exposure to Food and Beverage hazardous cleaning chemicals.
- Exposure to food items and beverages.
$16.12 - $21.50 Hourly Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two years restaurant experience.
- Good food and service knowledge.
- Pleasant personality.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to read, write and speak clearly and accurately in English.
