X-Ray Technologist

Job Title

Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment with ingenuity and initiative to apply diagnosis.

Performs duties according to age and condition of patient. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required. Possesses knowledge of human growth and development.

Maintain daily QC and other adequate records as directed.

Positions and transfers patients to the examination table.

Provides immobilization devices as required.

Selects proper technical factors on an individual basis.

Demonstrates thorough knowledge of all diagnostic equipment use within the department or satellite areas. All necessary equipment is used properly and with professionalism. Use initiative when reporting equipment malfunctions to supervisors or service organizations.

Operates stationary and mobile x-ray equipment and processes images according to established procedures and send them to PACS.

Provides protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards.

Assists physicians in preparing and administering contrast media for various special procedures.

Responsible for delegated areas of authority in the performance of routine or special procedures.

Practices sterile techniques and adheres to infection control policies.

Performs all other duties as required.

Position Requirements:

This position requires a minimum formal education of High School Diploma or equivalent and a and job-related minimum of 1 year job-related experience.

Desired (not required) criteria include: Completion of formal radiologic technology training in AMA approved school. One year experience as Staff technologist; comparable hospital setting preferred.

License, Radiologist Technology, NYS & ARRT Certification.

Union - 1199 Days: Mon - Fri (Alternate weekends) Shift: 8am-4pm

Hourly Rate Range - $45.6432 - $58.6210
