This is your chance to work on meaningful projects that leave a lasting impact while advancing your career with a supportive and innovative team.Explore how VHB's Land Development team is transforming communities here.ResponsibilitiesWork within a team of professionals to develop site/civil engineering plans and specifications for a multitude of projects, including large-scale industrial developments, biotech, institutional, healthcare and residentialSupport preparation of land development design and permitting documentsDraft plans using AutoCAD Civil 3DPrepare and review drawings and specifications documenting the systems designedParticipate in meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to help understand project requirements and support discussions about design and permitting topics.Support the design team during Construction Administration by assisting with coordination, responding to contractor questions, and helping review submittals and field reports.Assist with managing small, medium and large projectsSupport the development of new project opportunities by helping prepare proposals, gathering information, and contributing to writing and formatting.Skills and AttributesProficient in the following: AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Project, MS Office. ArcGIS skills highly desirableSkills to implement the integrated services approach. Comprehensive understanding of design, details, and construction drawing preparation including site layout, grading, hardscape, drainage, and planting.Knowledge of land development construction including codes and development regulationsKnowledge of construction materials and detailing. Detail drawings, sections, and material specificationsExperience with green initiative programs and low-impact design (LEED, Envision)Creative and detail-oriented engineer with strong design, research, and analytical skills. Excellent communicator, self-motivated, and collaborative, with a proven ability to multitask, think critically, and grow into leadership roles.QualificationsBS in Civil Engineering or related degree1+ years of increasing engineering experience on complex projectsEIT PreferredExperience in site layout, grading, utility design and stormwater managementUnderstanding of I-64 and Virginia market preferredKnowledge of AutoCAD Civil3D software requiredBuilding what's next, together.Our people make the difference.
