Job Title: Occupational Therapist Assistant Profession: Occupational Therapy Assistant Specialty: - Duration: 13 weeks Shift: M-F Hours per Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Experience: Minimum of two (2) years in a clinical setting with a frail or elderly population License: Valid Occupational Therapy Assistant License Certifications: - Must-Have: - Occupational Therapy Assistant knowledge and skills necessary to treat frail, elderly participants with complex needs - Excellent clinical, organizational, and communication skills in settings with seniors, their families, and interdisciplinary team members - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision - Demonstrated ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment - Commitment to unlocking the full potential of vulnerable seniors Description: The Occupational Therapist Assistant, under the direction of an Occupational Therapist, is responsible for assisting with performing tests and providing restorative and rehabilitative Occupational Therapy services to participants. Services will be delivered to participants in both the Center and home settings to maximize independence and safety while enhancing performance of activities of daily living. The Occupational Therapist Assistant will work collaboratively with other members of the rehabilitation team to implement the plan of care established by the Occupational Therapist. Key responsibilities include administering treatment programs as established by the Occupational Therapist. Assisting the Occupational Therapist in obtaining vital signs, range of motion, and strength testing will also be part of the role. Coordinating with team members to implement activities and programs based on individual treatment plans is expected. The Occupational Therapist Assistant will handle scheduling of treatment, clinical visits, and documentation. They will deliver and document Occupational Therapy interventions according to the care plans set by the Occupational Therapist. Training and instruction will be provided to staff, participants, and caregivers regarding the use and care of therapeutic equipment. The role includes tracking and managing maintenance for equipment. The Occupational Therapist Assistant will be alert to input from team members, participants, and caregivers and will promptly update the Occupational Therapist of any changes in the participant's condition or functional status. Participation in end-of-life care coordination and support under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist is required. All required documentation must be completed in a timely and accurate manner. Maintaining privacy and confidentiality of all procedures and information is essential. Following company policies and procedures and participating in mandated Quality Improvement activities, training, and meetings is expected. Regular communication with supervisors and the team regarding workload and priorities is mandatory. Flexibility in performing assignments as business needs evolve is important. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
