Required Qualifications Valid Speech Language Pathologist license in compliance with state regulations. Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC). Preferred Qualifications Master’s Degree or higher in Speech Language Pathology. Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech‑Language Pathology. Experience in Speech Language Pathology; new graduates welcomed. Other certifications or licenses may be required. Summary The Speech‑Language Pathologist (SLP) evaluates, diagnoses, and treats communication and swallowing disorders in individuals of all ages, develops individualized treatment plans, collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, and facilitates improved communication outcomes. Essential Work Functions Utilize standardized assessments and clinical observation to evaluate speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders. Design personalized therapy programs based on evaluation findings, patient goals, and evidence‑based practices. Continuously assess patient progress, adjust treatment plans, and maintain detailed documentation in the electronic medical record. Educate patients, families, and caregivers on effective communication strategies and safe swallowing practices. Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care. Maintain a safe treatment environment by adhering to infection control protocols and regulatory standards. Engage in quality assurance initiatives and professional development activities. Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice. Required Essential Skills Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication skills. Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English. Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills. Physical stamina to remain in a stationary position, move equipment (50‑100lbs), push, pull, and bend. Interpersonal effectiveness with a variety of personnel and professionalism. Technical/motor skills for fine manipulation and assisting with procedures and department equipment. Mental resilience under pressure, ability to work with varying supervision and complex schedules.
