STAFF PSYCHIATRIST, CORRECTIONAL AND REHAB SERVICES (SAFETY) (California)

Position Overview

Staff Psychiatrist, Correctional Facility (Safety) – dual appointment for experienced California Staff Psychiatrists. Positions are up to 40 hours per month, part‑time, and may be extended. The appointment is distinct from the primary role and the holder cannot be a supervisor, manager, or executive in the primary position.

Compensation and Term

$174.57–$179.63 per hour. Limited‑term appointment; may be extended. Multiple positions available. Work location: Monterey County, Soledad – Correctional Training Facility. Work is in office (no telework).

Key Responsibilities

Provide psychiatric care to inmates in the facility. Time worked is outside normal office hours and is not considered overtime. Specific duties are described in the attached Duty Statement.

Qualifications

• Staff Psychiatrists currently employed by the State of California.
• Cannot be a supervisor, manager, or executive in the primary position.
• Must meet the Minimum Qualifications stated in the Classification Specification.
