What does a Derivatives Analyst do

Role Overview A derivatives analyst works in the complex area of financial trading, focusing on instruments whose value derives from other assets. The analyst gathers and analyzes market data to provide actionable insights for traders and portfolio managers. They may also prepare client reports. Responsibilities Collect and analyze data on a wide range of derivatives products. Develop and maintain analytical models and reporting tools. Provide timely information to traders and managers to support investment decisions. Prepare reports and presentations for internal stakeholders and clients. Qualifications Proven track record in relevant analytical or trading activities. Degree in mathematics, actuarial science, finance or related field. Formal training in derivatives analysis software.
