License: MI RN License Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Leadership Experience Description:The Manager Patient Care Services is the nurse leader responsible for the quality of care and safety of patients in their area of responsibility.This role demonstrates core competencies in communication, relationship-building, knowledge of the healthcare environment, leadership, professionalism, and business skills.The nurse manager constantly strives for nursing excellence. Essential functions and responsibilities include:Participating in nursing and organizational policy formulation and decision-making involving staff.Evaluating the quality and appropriateness of health care while promoting care delivery that respects individuals' rights and preferences.Accepting organizational accountability for services provided to patients.Coordinating nursing care with other healthcare disciplines and integrating services across the continuum of care.Providing guidance for and supervision of colleagues accountable to the nurse manager.Overseeing staffing and scheduling, considering the scope of practice, competencies, patient needs, and complexity of care.Providing appropriate orientation for new staff and giving individual feedback on staff development and progress.Evaluating colleague performance in a fair and transparent manner.Developing, implementing, and monitoring the budget for a defined area of responsibility.Participating in and involving nursing staff in evaluative research activities to promote evidence-based practice.Encouraging shared accountability for professional practice.Providing open communication with staff, allowing ample opportunities to discuss issues and seek guidance.Performing other duties consistent with the purpose of the job as directed. #J-18808-Ljbffr Cynet HealthStaff
