Project Policy Analyst 2

This position will function as the Project/Policy Analyst for the department. Under general supervision, the incumbent will provide analytical support, planning for projects and strategic initiatives, programs related to finance, and research. The incumbent will work on projects that are sensitive or complex in nature that require critical thinking skills, independence, and initiative in implementation. This position will support areas within Research to include Clinical Trials, Grants, and Contracts such as pre-, intra-, post-, and reporting management. This position plays a major role in data mining for clinical improvement and research, utilizing large data to create reports. In addition, the incumbent should have experience in Finance to include researching, gathering, compiling, and presenting reports using large datasets. Analyses of charges and collections and effecting appropriate change mechanisms in response to the analyses. As needed, will assist in providing expertise regarding Federal, State, and Commercial guidelines which continually adjust to a changing health care environment. This position will Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) Analysis, Information Governance, and data management analysis. Makes significant decisions and ensures achievements of targets, objectives, and adheres to deadlines. Maintains successful collaborations and partnerships with key stakeholders. Exercise’s judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Apply By Date 5/11/2026 at 11:59pm PST Minimum Qualifications Must be certified in one of the nationally recognized professional coding bodies OR obtain certification within 2 years to maintain employment: CPC certification through the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) or CCS-P certification through the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA). AA/AS Degree in Business Administration or related field plus two years’ experience providing administrative support is preferred; and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience (totaling 4 years) 1‑2 years work experience or equivalent education time. Working knowledge of pre‑, intra‑, and post‑research governance, computer applications that support research, preparing and interpreting research/financial reports. Ensures required projects are submitted to Institutional Review Board (IRB) and internal/external regulatory standards related to working with clinical and research data. Report writing & analysis. Ability to accurately analyze complex data and communicate this to faculty, administrators, and key stakeholders. Ability to manipulate large data files in a variety of platforms (i.e. Excel, Microsoft Office Suite, SIS Analytics, Crystal Reports, Epic Cogito, Epic SlicerDicer, etc.). Advanced knowledge and ability to use mathematics and statistical methods, qualitative analyses, evaluative techniques, and business planning. Complex problem solving, creativity, critical thinking, emotional intelligence, and flexibility. Proficient in communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Knowledge of and compliance with guidelines related to research, financial and patient data. Thorough understanding of all medical billing reimbursement related protocols for Anesthesia and Pain Management, including guidelines pertaining to CPT‑4, ICD‑10‑CM, HCPCS, ASA Relative Value Guide and RBRVS.
