Licensed Veterinary Technician

All West Veterinary Hospital is seeking an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join our team and support both outpatient care and procedural services, including surgery and dentistry.

We are seeking a versatile, client-focused technician who is passionate about surgery and enjoys being actively involved in both surgical and general practice care. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, balancing hands-on surgical support, exam room responsibilities, patient care, and meaningful client communication. You'll have the opportunity to work hands-on with a diverse range of patients, including dogs, cats, pocket pets, birds, reptiles, and other exotic species, while helping educate and guide clients throughout their pet's care.

Responsibilities include:

• Supporting efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows
• Performing anesthesia induction, monitoring, assisting, and recovery
• Performing dental procedures, including prophylaxis and radiography
• Maintaining accurate, detailed medical records and treatment documentation
• Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
• Identifying patient concerns and supporting efficient case management across the hospital
• Building strong client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service

This role is ideal for technicians who enjoy variety in their day, are confident moving between exam room and procedure support, and want to fully utilize their clinical knowledge, technical skillset, and client communication abilities in a collaborative general practice environment.

Schedule and compensation:

• Compensation: $23 - $26 per hour, for each hour worked
• This is a full-time or part-time position, with a 4/10 schedule and availability needed Monday-Friday. No weekends, nights, or holidays!

Minimum qualifications and skill set:

• 4+ years of veterinary technician experience
• Active and good-standing Licensed Veterinary Technician in the state of Montana **
• Proficiency in the following skills:
  
  • Anesthetic induction, monitoring, and recovery
  • Surgical assistance and aseptic technique
  • Dental prophylaxis and dental radiography
  • Venipuncture and intravenous catheter placement
  • Radiology positioning and safety protocols
  • Medication administration and accurate drug calculations
  • Laboratory sample collection and in-house diagnostic testing
  • Accurate medical record documentation
  • Safe, low-stress patient handling and restraint techniques
  • Client education and communication
  • Experience with handling exotics is preferred, but not required

**Recent graduates pending VTNE testing and licensure, or out-of-state license-holders who are eligible to transfer a license, are also encouraged to apply
