Pop-Up Coordinator

Awkward Family Photos is bringing its holiday portrait studio to Yorktown Center in Lombard, IL : a set built like Grandma's living room, a rack of ridiculous outfits, and the most hilariously over-serious family portraits you've ever seen.

We're hiring a Popup Coordinator to run the booth for the season. You don't need to be a photographer. We have photographers; we need someone to run the place.

What you'll do

• Open and close the booth, check guests in on the iPad and keep the line moving
• Style guests in our wardrobe
• Lead the booth's photographers and help train new team members
• Be the mall's point of contact, and receive and pack up the booth kit
• Handle the tricky moments, like an unhappy guest or an equipment failure, and report daily numbers

What we're looking for

• Supervisory experience in retail, events or hospitality
• Genuinely calm when it gets busy, and a reliable communicator
• Available all season, weekends and holidays included

The details

• Pay: $24/hr
• Benefits: None; this is a seasonal independent contractor (1099) role
• Paid in-person training: Thursday, October 22, 11am–4pm at Yorktown Center
• Season: Nov 6 – Dec 24, 2026; afternoons, evenings and weekends
• Seasonal 1099 contractor, on-site in Lombard, IL
• No cash handling: guests pay on their own phones
