Job Description: Line Chef

Location: Dallas, TXReports to: Executive Chef / Section HeadJob Purpose:The Line Chef is responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting dishes in both the Hot and Cold sections. The chef ensures quality, consistency, and timely service while maintaining hygiene and safety standards. Since this Restaurant serves Middle Eastern cuisine, the focus will be on hot items, salads, appetizers, breads, and traditional dishes.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Cook hot Dishes , and grilled items according to recipes.
• Operate grill, sauté, oven, fryer, and other hot line equipment.
• Prepare and plate salads, cold appetizers, dressings, and garnishes.
• Maintain correct food temperatures for both hot and cold items.
• Assemble and plate dishes with attention to presentation and quality.
• Maintain refrigeration and hot equipment; ensure proper labeling and FIFO rotation.
• Ensure all dishes are served fresh, timely, and consistent with Middle Eastern standards.
• Keep workstation clean, sanitized, and organized at all times.
• Coordinate with other line chefs and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service.

Skills

• Strong cooking techniques including grilling, sautéing, frying, and roasting.
• Precision knife skills and handling of fresh produce.
• Knowledge of safe food handling for both hot and cold items.
• Ability to manage multiple orders and maintain timing under pressure.
• Clear communication with chefs and other team members.
• Strong sense of presentation and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a professional kitchen, ideally with Middle Eastern cuisine.
• Understanding of both hot and cold station preparation techniques.
• Physical endurance for long shifts, including working near heat.
• Flexibility with scheduling, including nights and weekends.
• Culinary school training or equivalent professional experience preferred.
