- Conduct thorough evaluations of patients spanning pediatric to geriatric groups using both standardized assessments and hands-on observational methods.
- Create customized treatment plans tailored to meet both immediate objectives and long-term communication or swallowing needs.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy focused on communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallow functionality.
- Engage in collaborative care with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to ensure comprehensive treatment strategies.
- Provide educational resources to patients and their families to reinforce progress outside of therapy sessions.
- Assist with inpatient evaluations and therapy sessions as necessary, ensuring seamless care throughout the recovery journey.
- Document all clinical interactions and maintain compliance with state, federal, and organizational healthcare standards.
- Pursue ongoing professional development through continuing education and collaboration with peers in the field.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if the ASHA certification is not yet obtained.
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Possession of Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the first month of employment.
- Expertise in evidence-based treatment methods for varied age groups, including a solid understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing issues.
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skills to effectively engage with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Adaptability to modify therapy approaches to appreciate and respect cultural and linguistic diversity.
- Strong clinical judgment coupled with problem-solving acumen.
- Comfortable navigating electronic medical records and adhering to documentation norms.
