Surplus Purchasing Specialist

Radwell International is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Surplus Purchasing Specialist to join our dynamic team at our Corporate Headquarters in New Jersey. Key Responsibilities The Surplus Purchasing Specialist will actively source and purchase surplus inventory of industrial electronic components, PLCs, drives, motors, and related equipment. The specialist will research and evaluate potential surplus lots to determine market value, resale potential, and acquisition cost‑effectiveness. They will negotiate purchase prices and terms, build relationships with suppliers and vendors, coordinate with internal departments, maintain accurate documentation of all purchasing transactions, monitor market trends, conduct quality assessments, meet or exceed purchasing targets, and assist in resolving discrepancies or issues related to purchased inventory. Required Skills Strong negotiation and communication skills Ability to assess and evaluate the value of surplus industrial electronic components Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, and Outlook Familiarity with industrial electronics, PLCs, drives, motors, and automation components Strong organizational and time‑management skills Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and record‑keeping Ability to work independently and as part of a team Research and analytical skills for market evaluation and pricing Customer and vendor relationship management skills Basic understanding of supply chain and inventory management principles Problem‑solving skills and ability to handle purchasing disputes or discrepancies Ability to meet purchasing targets and performance metrics Required Experience High School Diploma or equivalent required Prior experience in purchasing, procurement, or buying roles preferred Experience in the surplus, secondary market, or industrial electronics industry is a plus Experience negotiating purchase prices and terms with vendors or suppliers Background in inventory management or warehouse operations is beneficial Experience using ERP or inventory management software is advantageous Demonstrated ability to evaluate and assess product value and market conditions Experience building and maintaining vendor or supplier relationships Track record of meeting or exceeding performance goals in a purchasing or sales environment Any experience in industrial automation, electrical components, or related technical fields is highly desirable Physical Demands This is an office job that involves operating a telephone and computer (monitor, keyboard, mouse). Work Schedule Work schedule is 8 am‑5 pm. Employees are expected to arrive on time and adhere to accepted time‑off policies. Salary Range The range displayed on each job posting reflects the targeted base salary for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. SALARY RANGE: $25‑35/hr Radwell Benefits Radwell offers a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision coverage. The company provides company‑sponsored short‑term and long‑term disability benefits, as well as $50,000 in life insurance. These benefits, along with additional voluntary benefits, are available to all regular full‑time employees beginning on the first day of employment. All employees are automatically enrolled at 3 % into the company’s 401(k) plan the month following 90 days of continuous employment. Employees are eligible for common paid company holidays and 15 days of PTO annually, which accrue from the first date of employment and may be used immediately upon joining the team. Work Environment This is an office position with a substantial amount of sitting at a computer. Interaction with vendors via phone and email will occur.
