RN - ICU Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described by professional standards and legal requirements. Demonstrates competency through the nursing process, which includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Upholdsstandards of professional performance in areas including ethical practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, and quality of practice. Strives to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Provides evidence-based nursing care consistent with the interprofessional plan of care and relevant standards. Communicates and collaborates with other health care team members to ensure continuity of care. Acts as a patient and family advocate. Performs point of care testing as required. Demonstrates high standards of moral, ethical, and culturally sensitive behavior. Formulates decisions based on ethical principles and advocates for the privacy and confidentiality of patient and organizational data. Assesses overall patient and family needs and analyzes data to identify potential issues. Identifies expected outcomes and develops individualized care plans to achieve those outcomes. Evaluates patient and family educational needs and employs appropriate teaching strategies. Initiates discharge planning at the time of patient contact and facilitates transitions to the next point of care. Ensures accurate and timely documentation. Assumes a leadership role and delegates appropriately to support safe, quality patient care. Engages in activities related to professional development and participates in quality improvement initiatives. Actively participates in safety initiatives and completes all position-related safety competencies. Performs other duties as assigned.
