Your Role & Impact As a CNC Operator, you'll be at the heart of aerospace manufacturing-producing critical aircraft components with exacting accuracy. Position Details
- Job Type: Full-Time | Consultant (6 Months)
- Location: Kinston, NC
- Pay: Up to $30.44 per hour
- Schedule: Must be available for any shift , including overtime and weekends
- Set up and operate a variety of machine tools (manual and CNC) to produce precision parts
- Interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications to determine machining operations
- Calculate dimensions, feeds, speeds, and tooling requirements using shop mathematics
- Perform machining processes such as milling, drilling, grinding, boring, and honing
- Use precision measuring tools to verify part accuracy and ensure quality compliance
- Monitor processes using statistical and quality control methods
- Deburr and finish parts to meet exact specifications
- Perform basic machine maintenance (e.g., filter changes, lubrication, coolant levels)
- Move materials within the production area and manage workflow progression
- Support team productivity by assisting and training other operators
- Maintain strict adherence to safety, OSHA, and FOD prevention practices
- Participate in additional training and work toward MVP qualification
- Minimum 3 years of CNC machine operator experience
- Strong knowledge of machine operations, tooling, and machining processes
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Familiarity with precision measuring instruments
- Understanding of safety, quality, and OSHA standards
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English
- High School Diploma or GED (or WorkKeys Assessment completion)
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, overtime, and weekends
- Ability to complete required training (Health & Safety, Aircraft Familiarization, Quality Training)
- 5+ years of aviation or aerospace production experience
- Formal training or certification in machining or machine operations
- Experience in a high-precision manufacturing environment
