The Staff Accountant will play a crucial role within a medium-sized accounting team, supporting various financial processes to ensure accuracy and compliance. This position involves managing general ledger activities, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and month-end close procedures. The ideal candidate will contribute to budget support and work with a variety of accounting software, with occasional interaction with external auditors. While tax return preparation is not required, strong financial acumen and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the general ledger
- Perform account reconciliations to ensure accuracy
- Prepare and assist in financial reporting activities
- Support month-end close and journal entry processes
- Assist with budget planning and monitoring
- Collaborate with internal team members and interact occasionally with external auditors
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional accounting experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred
- Knowledge of GAAP and financial analysis principles
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Excellent attention to detail and strong time management skills
- Effective communication and problem-solving abilities
