Nurse Practitioner - Correctional Urgent Care - $140K-150K per year

Job Description & Requirements CoreCivic is seeking a Nurse Practitioner Correctional Urgent Care for a job in Eloy, Arizona. Responsibilities Conduct thorough medical evaluations, physical examinations, and medical histories for incarcerated individuals. Diagnose and treat a wide range of acute and chronic illnesses, injuries, and infections. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, prescribing appropriate medications, therapies, and interventions. Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including pharmaceuticals, laboratory work, radiological examinations, and screenings. Provide vaccinations, perform health screenings, and promote preventive care measures within the correctional population. Perform basic technical skills such as suturing, splinting, and injections. Monitor and manage chronic diseases prevalent among incarcerated individuals (diabetes, hypertension, asthma, HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis C), ensuring proper medication management, dosage adjustments, and treatment effectiveness. Educate patients on disease management strategies, lifestyle modifications, and medication adherence. Collaborate with specialty care providers for consultations and referrals when necessary. Respond to medical emergencies, providing immediate assessment, stabilization, and necessary interventions. Coordinate with emergency medical services or arrange transfers to external facilities when required. Participate in emergency preparedness planning and training exercises. Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team (nurses, psychologists, psychiatrists, dentists, social workers, correctional staff) to ensure coordinated healthcare delivery. Communicate effectively with healthcare team members, providing necessary information, consultations, and referrals. Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and quality improvement initiatives. Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, adhering to confidentiality regulations. Comply with all relevant laws, regulations, policies, and ethical standards governing correctional healthcare. Stay updated with latest advancements in primary care and correctional medicine. Engage in continuous professional development and provide training to correctional staff as needed. Qualifications Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state/jurisdiction where the correctional facility is located. Experience in providing primary care or relevant experience in correctional or underserved populations is preferred. Strong assessment and diagnostic skills, with ability to manage a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
