Registered Nurse (RN) - MS/Tele

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse specializing in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry (MS/Tele) nursing. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in telemetry nursing to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the MS/Tele unit.
• Monitor patients' vital signs and cardiac rhythms.
• Utilize advanced knowledge in dysrhythmia management and interpretation.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Administer medications and treatments as per physician orders.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the preferred charting system, Epic.
• Assist in central tele monitoring with the support of trained staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry setting is required; candidates with 1 year of experience may be considered.
• Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS are preferred.
• Proficiency in cardiac monitoring and emergency response is highly desirable.
• Community hospital experience is preferred.
• Travel experience is required; candidates should have at least 3 years of MS/Tele experience.

Work Schedule

• Night shifts: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00).
• Every other weekend coverage is required.
• Float between units may be necessary based on facility needs.
• Pre-approved time off: 2 requests during the contract period.

Patient Population and Special Procedures

• Will care for patients with various diagnoses, including sepsis, dementia, post-operative care, orthopedic cases, chest pain, and stroke risk assessments.
• Experience with specialized equipment such as chest tubes and wound vacs is preferred.

Additional Requirements

• Must pass an arrhythmia and medication test on the first day of placement.
• Shaving may be required to pass fit testing; failure to comply will result in disqualification.
• All requested time off must be included with initial application; subsequent requests will not be considered.
• Attendance policy: More than two shifts missed without valid explanation may lead to contract review and potential cancellation.
