The BHT implements applied behavior analytic interventions and support, allowing the child to remain in the least restrictive treatment or education setting. Duties and Responsibilities Carrying out specific interventions identified in the behavioral treatment plan developed by the Behavioral Consultant (BC), the interagency team, and the Elwyn treatment team Teaching the child positive social skills to avoid or reduce socially inappropriate, threatening, and/or dangerous behavior by implementing interventions such as role play, modeling, and positive reinforcement developed by the BC. Modeling and explaining the appropriate intervention to the child, family, and/or teacher, working collaboratively and modeling behaviors based on the BC’s plans. Supporting caregivers in providing immediate rewards or consequences for behavior identified in the individual treatment plan. Implementing behavioral supports as identified in the treatment plan to support the child in activities such as summer camp, community events, and school-based events. Recording behavioral data and documenting progress toward the child’s treatment plan goals in Elwyn electronic health records. Writing daily progress notes consistent with treatment goal adjectives to be placed in the child’s case file. Completing and submitting weekly encounter forms to ensure appropriate billing. Complying with the Behavioral Analyst Certification Board (BACB) Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Ethics Code by obtaining the required number of supervision hours per month. Renewing the RBT certification annually, including passing the RBT Competency Assessment and completing the renewal application. Performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and crisis intervention using agency-trained protocols. Performing other duties as assigned. Education, Skills, and Experience Requirements Must possess one of the following certifications at the time of hire or obtain it within six (6) months: Board-certified assistant behavior analyst certification (BCaBA) Board-certified autism technician (BCAT) certification Behavior analysis certification from an organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies or the American National Standards Institute High school diploma (or equivalent) with registered behavioral tech (RBT) designation Minimum of two (2) years of experience providing applied behavior analysis (ABA) services and a minimum of 40 hours of ABA-related training approved by the Department of Human Services (DHS) or a BACB-approved continuing education provider Additional Requirements Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in the provision of behavioral health services. Ability to keep pace with active children. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple competing priorities. Strong attention to detail. Strong time‑management and organizational skills. Excellent judgment with the ability to solve problems and make decisions independently. Ability to anticipate future needs, identify problem areas, and take effective action. Must be able to perform CPR and crisis intervention using agency‑trained protocols. Excellent customer interaction, collaboration, presentation, and written and verbal communication skills. Basic experience with Microsoft Office Word and Outlook. Ability and means to commute between community‑based sites, as needed; if driving, must possess a current, valid driver’s license in the state of residence, at least two (2) years of U.S. driving experience, and an acceptable driving record.
